It's living for the love, not dying for it.

What's new, what's old, who you love, and who is who.
Don't let me go. I like you.

8.10.10

October 8th, 2010. A better day, a bit brighter

Ah, so, today.
I'm going to try to be better about blogging. I am not going to shoot for everyday, I don't want to become a computer potato. (Do I even make sense in English anymore???) Today is Friday. TGIF!!!
I got out of bed this morning. I know it sounds silly to say it, but if you felt my legs right now, you'd recognize how great of an accomplishment it actually was.
I got to school on time, which is good, because if not, I would've had to walk off campus and wait another hour before they opened the gates for the 9 o'clock courses for Fridays. Yay for on time girl.
My first class of the day, English. Har har, Spain just gets better and better. When I told my English teacher that my legs hurt from running 26 and a half minutes in P.E., she wrote on the board for the class that I had "pins and needles." Apparently, it's an English expression. I told her we call it "sore" in America and she put that on the board too. Sometimes I think even British English is an ENTIRELY different language... O.o
Catalan was good today, even though it's not usually. We watched films again. We always watch the weirdest films! Last week we watched one about a headless man...And today we watched one about a tone deaf wanna be rapper, and one with clay kind of animation, which was a bit scarring to be honest. But, definitely better than Valencia! OK, it's true, ANY class is better than Valencia!
T.G. I didn't have P.E. today! I would've collapsed. My legs hurt so bad.
My parents and brother picked me up, (late,) after school and took me to Hotel Los Angeles. (Is that how you spell it?) It's where they host Rotary meetings. I thought I was going out with my counselor for lunch and check up on how I was, but I just ended up sitting next to her at the meeting. I ate weird, and sadly, kind of gross, food and then my parents came and got me. It was really disappointing, and not what I expected. I don't think just sitting next to my counselor really constitutes as fair. I was expecting to be able to actually be, hum... Counseled? Mmmmmm. Moving on.
My host brother Marc has been sick, poor thing. He's the best, I love him to death. He looks like the Spanish replica of Taylor Castleton when we first went out. It kind of gives me a small heart attack each time he looks me right in the eyes and says something. Then I am trying to breathe and so I don't respond, and he thinks I don't understand what he says. But I usually do. It's strange!
Nacho is at the house right now. That's my host dad Paco's best friend. They teach together at the music school here in Denia. Paco teaches percussion I believe, and Nacho is the clarinet teacher. I wish he knew how pro my best friend Monica Babbit is with her clarinet and saxes back home. (MISS HER FREAKING GUTS.) He'd be very impressed.
As far as my health is concerned, that's where the title of this blog comes from. I WORE CONTACTS TODAY! Well, for a couple hours after school, but STILL! YA!
Madre mia, I was going to do a spazz dance, I looked so gorgeous.
It was funny, I was sitting there at my laptop, minding my own little business, which my mom finds so cute... And my dad had to use the phone by where I was sitting in the living room and he started talking to me about my contacts. He said, Oh you have your lenses in! And I said, Yes, and smiled. He said I was very pretty without my glasses. LOL, and then he said, With your glasses too! He didn't want to offend me. But I know I'm ugly with glasses, so I took no offense whatsoever. He then said, But I like the lenses better, yeah. He's so funny. A sweetheart. T.G., I need a fatherly figure!
When I put in my contacts, I pull my hair back with those big claw clips, you know the ones. My mom was so pleased, she called me an Espanola Guapa. Ha ha, that just means I'm a beautiful girl in the Spanish style with my hair like that. I took it out and let her do it. I think she liked that. I'm her only girl child, and she is so happy to have another girl around.
I don't know how I can be this sore. All I did was run. My mom sprayed some kind of medicine on my legs, and it helped a little but I just realized I'm sore in my back too. A lot. ERG.
But no worries, I'm doing much better. My stuffy nose and sore throat are almost non-existent. There's been some heartbreak from home that hit home, but I'm happy when I'm doing things with my host mom, so I'm excited this weekend is a four day one.
There's some kind of Spanish holiday fiesta thing for four days. I'm excited for the sweets. Mom says we're going to make cookies! And she showed me pictures and the cookie cutters! I love Spanish sweets! Oh no, which means I'm gonna have to run more. :S Worth it? Ohhhhh, yes.
Apparently, tomorrow we're going hiking. I j'adore hiking normally, but something tells me my legs are not going to j'adore me by Sunday morning. That stinks, because I'm performing with my church theatre group on Sunday. But it's with Alex, so I think I'll survive! Ha ha, inside jokes.
I finally had a good break time the other day with my German girl friends. We laughed and talked in English. I just needed a little to help me from going crazy. Don't worry, I'm not always in the English setting. By the way, turns out the guy I thought liked me in my class is pretty much gay. Pretty marvelous. Har har...
My muscles need sleep, and hopefully I'll accomplish getting out of bed tomorrow. My dad and Nacho are turning on the soccer upstairs so I'm gonna shut my lights off, close my door and hit the hay.
XOXOXO :*

(p.s. my foot is also a lot better. the pic is one i JUST took.)
